Waldtiefe is in development. These are the standards we are writing into our production contracts. We will update this page with confirmed suppliers and test results as they come in.
Water resistance
Every watch, not a sample, will be pressure-tested before it ships. Our standard follows ISO 6425 methods: 125% of rated depth, which is 25 bar for a 200-meter watch, held for two hours. We will not print “Diver’s” on the dial until a sample batch passes ISO 6425 at an independent lab.
Timekeeping
Each movement is checked on a timegrapher before shipping, against a written tolerance of [−5/+15] seconds per day [tolerance to confirm with supplier].
Movements
We use two proven automatics: the Miyota 9039 from Japan and the Sellita SW200-1 from Switzerland. Both run at 4 Hz with roughly 41 to 42 hours of power reserve, and both can be serviced by any competent watchmaker.
Where it is made
[Case and assembly partner and country: to be confirmed after supplier selection.] We label origin exactly as the law requires. A watch with a Swiss movement cased elsewhere says “Swiss Movement,” never “Swiss Made,” and the caseback names the country where the case was made.
Warranty and service
Three years, covering the movement and case against defects, longer than most young watch brands offer. [US service partner: to be confirmed.]
