Build log 01: Where the Reiter 200 stands
The first entry in a running record of how the watch gets made: what is decided, what is not, and what comes next.
We are going to build this watch in the open. Every month or so, this log will cover what we decided, what we changed our minds about, and what we are waiting on. Here is where things stand today.
Decided
- One case, three builds. A 40 mm case on a 47.5 mm lug-to-lug, offered in steel with a Japanese movement, steel with a Swiss movement, and Grade 5 titanium with the Swiss movement.
- The movements. The Miyota 9039 and the Sellita SW200-1. Both are proven, both run at 4 Hz, and both can be serviced almost anywhere.
- 200 meters, tested on every watch. Not a sample from each batch. Every one.
- A three-year warranty.
Still open
- The case and assembly partner. We are requesting quotes and samples now.
- The exact dial texture. How deep the tree rings are cut, and how they catch light under the applied indices.
- Pricing. It depends on final supplier quotes, and the waitlist will hear it first.
Next
Technical drawings, supplier quotes, and the first prototype order. [Next update: target date.] If you want each entry in your inbox, join the waitlist.
